Sherelle Sion Pickney, APRN, FNP-C, PMHNP-BC
Sherelle Sion Pickney is a dual board-certified nurse practitioner at Essential Wellcare. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized, and high-quality care tailored to each patient's unique needs. Her approach emphasizes primary and secondary disease prevention, patient education, and collaboration with healthcare specialists to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care. She believes that every patient deserves to be heard, respected, and empowered to achieve their best health.
A lifelong resident of Carencro, Louisiana, Sherelle has devoted more than 26 years to the healthcare profession. She began her nursing career by earning a Diploma in Practical Nursing from T.H. Harris Technical College in 2000. She later received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2004 and earned a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Southern University A&M College in 2016.
Committed to lifelong learning and advancing patient care, Sherelle completed a Post-Master's Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2021 and a Post-Master's Certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Northwestern State University in 2025, becoming dual board-certified.
Throughout her career, Sherelle has gained extensive clinical experience across multiple healthcare settings. In addition to her 26 years in healthcare, she brings more than 4.5 years of urgent care experience and over 3 years of experience in chronic weight management as a nurse practitioner. Her diverse background enables her to provide comprehensive care that helps patients achieve lasting wellness through prevention, early intervention, and evidence-based treatment.
